Product Description
A Cane Mudda (also known as a Mora or Moodha) is a traditional Indian stool handcrafted from natural materials. It is highly valued for its eco-friendly construction, durability, and lightweight design.
Key Features
- Materials: Traditionally made from Sarkanda (a type of wild grass/reed) or Bamboo sticks, which form the internal structural frame. The outer weaving and binding are done using Natural Cane (Rattan), jute, or cotton ropes.
- Construction: A typical mudda is built using around 170 sticks. These are bundled and meticulously hand-woven together in a looping process that can take a skilled artisan about 6 to 10 working hours per piece.
- Base & Stability: Many modern muddas feature a base made from recycled tires, which adds weight, prevents slipping, and increases the stool’s overall lifespan.
- Sustainability: These stools are 100% biodegradable and often prepared without chemicals, making them a popular plastic-free seating alternative.
